The Being Heard In Government Group (BHIG Group) is a group for people with learning disabilities who want to be more involved in democracy.

The group campaigns on many issues including cuts to local services and issues that concern people with learning disabilities.

Members take part in demonstrations and public events and can often be seen speaking at various different meetings.  They have visited parliament on a number of occasions and recently have been invited to join the All Party Parliamentary Groups for learning disabilities talking about issues such as democracy, employment benefits and health care. They have worked with local politicians to make election material accessible and during election time host accessible hustings events.

The group is currently campaigning about changes to the Mental Capacity Act.

The groups meets every 2 weeks, Mondays 10am - 12pm
