Speak Out can create easy read translations of reports and other information. Groups can also provide feedback on accessibility of leaflets, fliers and other information.

Easy read is a way of helping people with learning disabilities and other disabled people understand important information in a more accessible format.

Our easy read translation service works by:

1. Send us your document and we'll then provide you with a quote
2. A translator will be assigned to you who will keep you updated along the process
3. One the initial draft is completed, we then get it user tested by experts by experience; people with learning disabilities
4. When then send the user tested draft over to you for additional comments

Our work is led by listening and responding to the views of people with learning disabilities. Our user testing by experts by experience stage is the most important part of our process. We get each document user tested twice to ensure they understand the information we have translated and make any changes they suggest.

Examples include easy read versions of health information and local reports such as the Fairness Commission report, the Community Engagement Framework (Brighton and Hove City Council).
