Preparing for the Election

In April, Speak Out and Grace Eyre held an event to help people with learning disabilities prepare for the coming elections this year.

Big Focus Campaign 2024-25: Housing

Launching our 2024/25 Big Focus Campaign. The key issue is Housing and it was chosen by our members who have learning disabilities.

Speak Out AGM 2023

Opened by Councillor Bella Sankey, Leader of Brighton and Hove City Council, the evening saw talks from our members and trustees discussing the impact that Speak Out has made this year, we welcomed new and existing trustees back onto the board, enjoyed delicious food and also had a go at some karaoke.

Learning Disability England: Impact of Advocacy Film

The film tells the story of how self-advocacy has influenced and changed the lives of many people with a learning disability, helping them to become empowered to speak up for their rights and needs.

The Coral Reefers 5K Swim along the Brighton and Hove Shoreline

On Saturday 16th September, the Coral Reefers, a group of local Brighton and Hove women drawn together by a love of the sea, swam 5K along the Brighton and Hove Shoreline to help raise money for Speak Out.
