Brighton Council’s budget 2025 – 2026

Posted on 20 February 2025

Brighton and Hove City Council have recently released their budget for 2025/2026. The Council need to save a staggering £17million, with £9 million of that coming from Adult Social Care.

This comes as a huge let down to adult social care services across the city and concerning for the people we support.

On Thursday 13th February, Speak Out, Grace Eyre, Stay Up Late, Aldingbourne Trust and Southdowns Sussex came together to protest outside Hove Town Hall. Council members were meeting to discuss the budget, while we raised our voices to demand they put a stop to cuts in adult social care, calling for it to be ringfenced.
